Applied Research Projects on Religion and spirituality as social pedagogy/social work concerns

Projektbeschreibung

The main question is if, social pedagogy and/or social work education needs to focus more attention on both the importance of spiritual and religious beliefs in the lives of many service users and on the potential usefulness of religious and spiritual interventions, on organizational work and processes/institutional development.

A. Including Spirituality/Mindfulness and Religion into Social Work Practice

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of spiritual/religious aspects and their interactions with biopsychosocial symptoms on social care, social work, health care and their impact on use of services, and life satisfaction among primary clients; development of the concept for spiritual assessment.

B. Spirituality/Mindfulness and Religion in Governmental and Non -governmental Social Service Agencies

Religion and spirituality/mindfulness social workers are often not sure if it is helpful to bring religion/spirituality into the helping process, even if clients mention their faith orientation, because of concern of the separation of church and state other circumstances. It will be proof if there is necessity to develop new organizational and conceptual strategies. In Christian agencies, there is an expectation by the leadership and clients that a Christian framework will be used in the work and therapy process.

C. Professional capability framework and career adaptability

Based on career construction theory, the research examined individual and contextual predictors for the professional competence. Capabilities present that there will be understanding in conjunction with diagnostically important factors to help identify strengths and areas for development of social workers. Applying career construction theory, this study develops a research model that investigates whether career adaptability mediates the effect of work social support on career satisfaction when moderates with spirituality.

D. Metaanalyses

Exploring the role and significance of spirituality in social work our project brings a review of the recent literature on spiritually-sensitive social pedagogy/work and also should provide systematic reflection of subject and reveal the discussion focused on specific intervention techniques, models and possibilities for practice.
